Those who smoke know that there are some unspoken, and well accepted ruleso follow in every sesh. If you are new and nervous, we’ve put together a few tips to guide you through proper weed etiquette.  1. He who rolls, sparks and smokes first. Its customary for the person who pack the bowl, or rolls the joint to take the first pull. 2. Pass to the left. Whether it be a joint, or glass, its usual to pass to the left. This keeps it orderly and everyone knows when its their turn. 3. Don't hog the joint! Puff, puff, pass. Don't take more than you should every round. 4. Ash it before you pass it. Before you pass, make sure to ash it for the person on your left. 5. Crush the roach. If the joint is down to the roach, put it out, don't pass it on. 6. Don't be a mooch. Everyone is willing to share their weed, but don't be that person who never brings the flower. Make sure you take your turn providing the herb for the sesh.

10 Things to do if You Have Had Too Much Cannabis

Image
Cannabis is wonderful in the right dose, but too much can amplify your anxiety, bring on paranoia, and cause an all out freak out. The good news is, it’s mostly in your mind: there has been no report of death from a cannabis overdose. Cannabis will not permanently damage your liver, kidneys, or even your brain, and though taking too much can temporarily kick up your heart rate, the worst it will do is make you feel extra nervous. That being said, your mind can be a scary place. Once THC gets into your system, there is not much to do other than wait it out, which can make for an uncomfortable experience. So what do you do when you’ve accidentally smoked or ingested too much cannabis? Here are 10 tips to help you through it: Breath in or chew black pepper   Sounds gross, but many swear by it! Just sniff or chew on a few black peppercorns and it should provide almost instantaneous relief. Go outside, get some fresh air If you can’t turn your brain off, sometim...

Dab Nails and Domes

Image
“Dabbing” is the practice of smoking cannabis concentrates with specialized glass (“dab rigs,” also known as “oil rigs”) If you want to know more about dabbing read our   Dabbing Essentials blog here . Dab rigs use bangers or nails instead of the bowls used for dry herb. This blog focuses on nails and the various types available. Anyone who dabs regularly will tell you that the dab nail is the most critical part of the rig, and can be the difference between an mediocre and a mind-blowing smoking experience. . What is a Dab Nail? A typical dab rig is made up of a few basic components: a mouthpiece (which may or not be removable depending on the style), a chamber (where all the magic happens) and the dab nail. This is the part that heats your product. You can compare it to the heating element on a stove top. The element heats up from an ignition source  (usually electrical or gas). When a pot is placed on the heated element, it also heats up and cooks the food...

4 Alternatives to Bong Water That You Must Try!

Image
A great trend or “high-dea” with bongs ever since the emergence of vaporizers has been to replace water with another liquid for a unique taste or high. Here are 4 suggestions that we can recommend if you are up to experimenting with your bong water: 1. Infused Water Anything from orange and lemon peels to mint leaves, ginger, or refreshing fruits such as kiwi, lime, or strawberry can add just the right touch to the experience. If you enjoy citrus flavor, these fruits have an added advantage. Amazingly, after consuming your orange / lemon fruits, the peels when sliced into bong water produces quite an awesome taste of citrus which is good as it helps keep the bong clean. Whether you want to find new ways to keep your bong clean, or if you want to add flavor to your hoots, this is a great way to experiment with your bong. 2. Tea (Hot or Cold) Tea is a fabulous way to add flavor to your tokes, just ensure that you do not add any sugar. If the tea is sugared, the cleaning of...

The dog days of Summer are right around the corner! And how can you take your long, hot, school-free (if your are in uni or college) sunny days to the next level? Cannabis of course! Here are 8 ways to heighten your summer vacation experience: 1. Take a Hike Strap on your hiking shoes and get on the trail. Whether you live here on the Sea to Sky or no matter where you live, there are a number of excellent hikes not far from your front door. Not an avid hiker? Don't worry! Whether you are a beginner or a hard-core climber, hiking with cannabis is sensory treat. Read our blog on Cannabis and the outdoors here. 2. Fly a Kite Flying a kite may be one of the most satisfying, easy ways to spend a lazy afternoon. Add a little cannabis and it is even better. All you need are three things: A kite, wind and a little cannabis. What can be more relaxing on a sunny day with a warm breeze than watching your kite dip and bob with a mellow buzz. 3. Gaze at the Starry Night This may be the best way to enjoy cannabis with someone you love. And it costs nothing for this date night. Grab a blanket and find a nice patch of grass or sand, cuddle in a hammock, or climb into the bed of your truck. Enjoy cannabis together then simply snuggle and let your minds ponder the mysteries of the cosmos together. 4. Camping Wait until camp tent is set up before you indulge but taking some cannabis along with you on a camping trip could be just as important as firewood and bug spray. There is nothing like sitting back, wi-fi free and enjoying nature while enjoying cannabis to help you forget about all your troubles. Check out our blog on Camping with Cannabis here 5. Suntan and Wave Watch on the Beach Settle into a beach chair and close your eyes to listen to the waves crash into the beach as you let the sun's rays warm your skin. Or sit back and watch the waves rush in and retreat. Bothing can a be more cathartic cannabis experience. 6. Binge Watch a new show Maybe its too hot and you need to hide where it is cool and protect your sun kissed skin. Spend a lazy summer night catching up on your favorite binge-worthy program. Or a triple feature of your favorite movies. 7. Go to a Professional Baseball game Maybe you are not a sports fan, but even the least athletic enthusiast will enjoy smoking and watching the lazy game of baseball in the stadium. And ahead, eat a hot dog or popcorn.... It will taste better. 8. Go to an outdoor concert Buy tickets to an outdoor show and make sure to take along cannabis because there's nothing like vibing to your favorite music while on a buzz

Camping with Cannabis

Image
"There is no wifi when camping... but I promise, you will find greater connection" Unknown Camping season is upon us in Canada as May Long weekend approaches with wild enthusiasm from cannabis lovers. But why should you try... camping with cannabis?   Sometimes you need to disconnect to reconnect to nature and life as it should be. Everyday we are immersed in our phones, tablets, and social media that we’ve lost the ability to have true relationships and live within the moment. Camping is one of the best and healthiest ways to inspire a return to living mindfully, and connecting with those we love and care about: our fiends and family. It allows us to reconnect with nature as it is often forces us out of cell service range. As we camp it strengthens our relationships and forms lasting memories by encouraging us to work together as a team or unit. And like bread and butter, camping and cannabis go well together. There’s nothing like a shared bowl or joint t...

Outdoor Adventures with Cannabis: Tips on your next Outdoor Sesh

Image
Spring is on our doorsteps, which means most of us, especially in beautiful B.C., are dusting off our hiking boots, packing our knapsacks and setting off for adventures in nature. Cannabis makes a natural companion for explorers – the cathartic experience of smoking in fresh air that makes us feel more connected to the great outdoors. Before heading off on your next hike, make sure you’re equipped with the knowledge you need to be both safe and considerate with your cannabis use. What you will need to pack: 1. Water: And lots of it. Nothing worse than dry mouth with no relief. Plus smoking cannabis requires an increase of fluids to stay hydrated. 2. A lighter : Its rough to have your piece or joint ready and realize... you have nothing to light it 3. A portable piece or joint : Most hikers prefer a small pipe, bubbler, or joint for portability and to avoid breaking their favorite piece or lugging around one far too large. 4. Herb: Some strains are actually named afte...

Foods that Enhance Your High and How They Do It

Image
D id you know there are certain foods you can eat that can actually enhance your high? Well there are... and here are 4 that will take your next sesh next level: 1. Chocolate: Chocolate is well known to produce bliss. That is because chocolate contains anandamide, the same chemical compound found in cannabis that is known to produce feelings of euphoria. Therefore, consuming chocolate and cannabis together will activate more receptors in the brain that make you feel even more euphoric. 2. Mangoes: Mangoes naturally have a high content of a compound called myrcene . Myrcene is particularly fond of THC, and binds to THC receptors in the brain. Therefore, eating a mango about 30 minutes to an hour before you smoke that blunt, bowl, joint, or dab can not only increase your high, but make it come on faster and last longer. 3. Green or Black Tea: Black or Green tea are both high in catechin, an antioxidant that has a particular affinity with CB1 receptors in the brain. Whe...

The Pros and Cons of Silicone

Image
Glass is without a doubt the best material to smoke from. However, glass can break and no matter how expensive or thick a piece is... there is always a chance of it breaking. All smokers know the agonizing heartbreak of watching your beloved bong fall and shatter. Silicon in recent years has been hitting the market to try and combat the broken glass problem. For a lot of people silicone pipes or pieces have become a lifesaver, and for some, not worth it and dedicated solely to glass. Silicone definitely has its pros and cons. Here we lay out the pluses and minuses or silicone. The biggest pro: Silicone pieces are unbreakable and therefore great for smoking on the go or traveling because they can be folded and stored away without risk of breaking! They are also dishwasher safe and can be very easy to clean. Some designs are very cute and not possible in glass. The price point is generally lower than glass as well, a key pro to silicone. The cons: Silicone is not beau...

The Perks of Percs: All about Perculators

Image
If you are familiar with glass, whether it be a rig, ash catchers or bongs , you have definitely heard the term “percolator” or “perc” before.  In this post, the purpose and function of percolators will be covered as well as, and main types that can be included with water pipes or ashcatchers. Water pipes or bongs use water and a glass chamber to cool and filter the smoke from burning dry herb. An ash catcher is used to save a water pipe from ash and particulates by adding another chamber to the bong. A percolator aims to further that effect by adding another layer of filtration and cooling to the  smoke. There are several different types of percolators, and each has a slightly different effect. 1. DownStrems Downstems are far more basic than percolators, in both appearance and function. A downstem is a simple  tube that sits in the main water chamber, allowing air to enter the chamber. This creates an improved airflow. Downstems are a very common feature fo...
